Honorary Chairwoman Cindy McCain Announces WDN Advisory Council Members

Washington, D.C.—The Women’s Democracy Network (WDN) announced its Advisory Council today. At a time when women’s participation in political leadership continues to lag behind men, the Council will play a vital role in galvanizing women to forge new paths to political leadership.

“In the 10 years since its founding, WDN has made great strides in empowering women by connecting them to their best resource: each other,” said Cindy McCain, WDN’s honorary chairwoman. “The extraordinary women serving on our Advisory Council will play an invaluable role in enhancing women’s leadership around the world.”

Judy Black, Julie Cram, Ashley Davis and Myriah Jordan will serve as co-chairs of the Council. WDN was founded by the International Republican Institute in 2006, to help more women participate in the political life of their countries. Ten years later, WDN is active in 86 countries in every region of the world, and has 16 Country Chapters. WDN members have served in a range of leadership positions, including as parliamentarians, deputy prime ministers, vice president, cabinet ministers and ambassadors.
