“It was such a pleasure to have had the opportunity to work such a professional as Dean Handspiker during my tenure with Gloria Jeans in Russia. As VP of Stores Dean and I worked very close. His vision, creativity, and insight into the Russian market was incredible. Dean is that rare creative individual who is able to communicate his ideas and visions so that store teams are are to easily understand and execute. His understanding of the daily store operations allowed him to structure and schedule workloads based on his knowledge of what store teams were realistically able to accomplish and when. Dean always amazed me with his quick mind, his ability to take a "what if" situation and in short time deliver a full, final campaign. His knowledge and understanding of fashion, marketing, visual presentation, as well as his inherent negotiation skills are exceptional. A lot of individuals can focus on fast fashion or couture. Dean has the skills and ability to deal with and create for any style, any product, any venue. In 45 years in the retail industry Dean is one of the top three individuals I have had the pleasure to work with. Not only was he a colleague, I am also able to say he was a great teacher. My knowledge of visual and merchandise presentation was very much enhanced through my day to day interactions with Dean. I whole-heartedly recommend Dean for any position for which he might be interested. Any company would be lucky to be able to employ him as an employee, consultant, or Board Member. ”
